So, keep moving along people. Nothing to see here. Another PC majority, another day in Alberta. That makes 12 in a row I believe.
For my conservative friends, I hope your hangover isn't that bad. For my progressive friends, it's still a PC government, so it's not like you're about to get public daycare, or a unicorn or something.
I had written this fantastic post last night before I went to bed about how John Robson might be right and the PC party left their own voters behind, and that's why the Wildrose dominated. Obviously, you'll never get to read that post. But trust me...it was awesome!
There will be lots of people dissecting what all this means. I expect, at minimum, 6 different and contradictory theories on what happened. But I think one thing is pretty clear, Albertans are a little more fiscally conservative than the PCs think, and at least a little less socially conservative than the Wildrose Alliance thinks.
And so it goes in politics. The more things change, the more they remain the same.
For all of you licking your wounds, or in the midst of great celebration I'm going to do something I've never done before. I'm going to repost my Movie Monday video to lighten the mood and provide some entertainment. Also, it has been pointed out to me that the movie is called "Toronto's Wild Spaces" so it even seems kind of topical today.
Happy Tuesday!
