A Short-Term Blog Hiatus

Thoughtful, inquisitive Paul...

So, in case you haven't already noticed, this space has been pretty quiet for the past month or, hmmm, maybe even longer. Over time, I have gone from posting a few times a day (like at the beginning), to once a day, to a few times a week...then just Movie Monday. Now that I've written that sentence....it seems kind of like a slow clap getting progressively slower. But I digress.

The truth is, when I started this blog I had all kinds of things I wanted to get off my chest, and for the past 8 months it has been a great place for that. But as time has gone on, I find myself feeling confined by the "Paulitics" moniker. In case you haven't noticed, I'm the kind of person who has an opinion about everything, thus only writing about politics, or even "the politics of everything" wasn't satisfying all the writing that I could be doing.

For example, I very much enjoy reviewing things I love or I hate, like  restaurants, technology, or places I visit. Also, I come across cool things in my journey's and don't always have an obvious place to write about them in my current political format.

But most of all, Movie Monday has grown and is starting to have a life of its own...which is AWESOME! The flip-side of this, is that it's become something that requires more time and expertise than our esteemed videographer William Matthews and I can muster on our own. It would be awesome to have another person or two contributing some of their creative energy to the writing and filming of the videos. With all of this said, you can probably see where this is going: a short-term blog shut down. I'll leave the content already here up, but I probably won't be writing much, if at all, for at least a month. During that time, I will be designing a new website at www.paulbien.com where Paulitical Satire will still live, but be only one part of a bigger blogging picture. If you have expertise in WordPress and want to help a brother out, feel free to contact me using my about.me page

Never fear folks, when I restarted this little blog of mine it was for the long-haul and while I may be gone for a little while, it won't be forever!
